Ryuchin Gorge is a secluded natural sanctuary nestled in the upper reaches of the Fukatani River, which flows into Lake Muro in Uda City, Nara Prefecture. In recent years, it has gained attention as a mystical spiritual spot. As you make your way along the stream, you’ll discover Ryuchin Falls—a breathtaking waterfall whose basin glows emerald green on sunny days.
Beside the waterfall stands Ryuchin Shrine, quietly enhancing the sacred atmosphere.
This shrine enshrines Takaokami-no-Kami, the Dragon God of water.
Activities such as swimming, camping, and barbecuing are not allowed in this area: Ryuchin Valley is located within the Murou Akame Aoyama National Park and is also within the sacred site of the Ryuchin Shrine.
