Konoyama
Mt. Kono or Konoyama is 618.8m high and a specified prefectural park, which is famous for its Rhododendrons and stargazing. Enjoy beautiful panoramic views from the observatory and good Japanese food at the restaurant.

Public transportation: From JR/Kintetsu Nara station, take the bus bound for 山添 (Yamazoe) and get off at 北野 (Kitano). Walk 2.4km to get to Konoyama.

By car: Get on Meihan Expressway and exit “神野口 (Konoguchi)”.

Chokyuji Temple
This ancient branch temple of Todaiji Kaidanin has 88 Jizos (guardian deity of travelers and children) placed by Chiryu-Shonin, who contributed to the rejuvenation of this temple. The gentle smile of each Jizo would relax the mind of those who see them.
