This weeping cherry tree is located in the precincts of Gokuraku-ji Temple in Ohara, Uda City, Nara Prefecture. It is estimated to be around 300 years old and is popularly known as “Ohara’s Gokuraku-sakura.” The temple faced destruction due to a fire in 1897; however, this strong tree managed to survive the fire. Although the temple was later rebuilt, there is no stationed priest at present.
There is no dedicated parking lot.
