Sekita Shrine

Sekita Shrine / 積田神社

In the 8th century, Kashima-no-kami, the chief deity of Kashima Shrine in Ibaraki Prefecture, is believed to have stopped by this shrine when he traveled to Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara.

The shrine looks stunning in autumn when colorful leaves adorn the approach to the shrine. The sight of the golden ginkgo covering the ground is so fascinating that many people visit to take pictures these days.
