Forest Park Konoyama

An entire mountain transformed into an outdoor playground!

This prefectural nature park offers activities, attractions, and outdoor fun through all four seasons. Spend some time with cute and cuddly sheep at Mee-Mee Farm, explore the rock formations at Nabekura Valley, take in the springtime azaleas and cherry blossoms, and don’t miss an unforgettable 360-degree panoramic view from the summit of Mount Kono.

Mount Kono

Soaring to a height of 618 meters (2,027 feet), Konoyama has been designated as a prefectural nature park and a place of special scenic beauty. Covered in lovely crimson and pink Azaleas in the spring, the site offers stunning panoramic views from the summit observatory and brilliant stargazing at night.

Mee-Mee Farm

Named after the sound that sheep make in Japanese, Mee-Mee (pronounced as "May-May") Farm is filled with cuddly and adorable sheep. ‘Sembei’ crackers can be purchased and fed freely to the animals, or you can enjoy a bento box yourself while relaxing on the grass. New lambs are born each February, and can be seen running around the facility - a truly delightful sight. At the neighboring Yomo-kan, you can see how fleece collected at the farm is processed into yarn, and even try spinning and dyeing your own original fabric.

Nabekura Valley

Explore an unusual expanse of black rocks that averages 25 meters (80 feet) in width and is 650 meters (2,100 feet) long - an intriguing landscape that looks like lava flowing down the mountainside. The rocks are lit up in early-to-mid-August, providing visitors with a strange and mysterious sight. If you listen carefully, you can hear a trickling sound flowing underneath the rocks, though no water can be seen.

Eizanko
