Grape & Strawberry Picking

You can enjoy grape picking from mid-July through October, strawberry picking from January to late-May at Shorenji Lake Tourism Village in Nabari. You don’t have to make a reservation, and it’s all-you-can-eat! Harvest and taste the season’s best fruits on the spot.

  1. Check-in
    Only Yamayuri Tourist Information Center is available for strawberry picking. At the information center, check-in at the reception desk and make a payment (price list below).  The staff will take you to one of the strawberry gardens in the tourist village.
  2. Guidance
    The staff will explain about the garden and how to pick strawberries.
  3. Enjoy harvesting!
    Start picking strawberries and eat as many as you want within 30 minutes. Please note you cannot take what you pick home. If you like to take out extra strawberries, please purchase a souvenir pack separately.

    9:30 am - 4 pm (check-in by 3:30 pm) from January 5 through May 21. Closed on Wednesdays. Open if a national holiday falls on Wednesday.

    From January 5 - May 10, 2024
    Adult (junior high student or older): 2,000 yen
    Child (elementary school student): 1,800 yen
    Toddler (3 years or older): 1,300 yen
    From May 11 - late May, 2024
    Adult (junior high student or older): 1,500 yen
    Child (elementary school student): 1,100 yen
    Toddler (3 years or older): 800 yen

Grape Picking

  1. Check-in
    Go to either Shorenji Lake Information Center or Yamayuri Tourist Information Center to check-in and make a payment (price list below).  The staff will take you to one of the grape gardens in the tourist village.
  2. Guidance
    The staff will explain about the garden and how to pick grapes. You can rent scissors, a basket, a picnic mat, etc., free of charge.
  3. Enjoy harvesting!
    Start picking grapes and eat as many as you want. Please note you cannot take what you pick home. If you like to take out extra grapes, please purchase a souvenir pack separately.
