Himeshi Myojin Shrine

Himeshi Myojin / 姫石明神

A rock shaped like a woman’s buttock is the object of worship, associated with a legendary princess. The name himeshi (princess stone) was given from the belief that the princess prayed here for her recovery from her gynecological problems. It is also known as a myojin deity notable for matchmaking and safe delivery of babies.

This place is located by Maruyama Park and on the route of the old Ise Honkaido. The pass ahead leads to Mie Prefecture.
